The Operating System for Cultural Assets.
Meridian solves the "Crisis of Provenance" by bridging physical artifacts with immutable, cryptographic identity. We provide the infrastructure for trust in the global art market.
01 — Architecture
The Phygital Link
1. Hardware Anchor
We utilize EAL4+ secure NFC chips (e.g., HaLo/IYK) embedded directly into the artifact or its display mount. These chips generate a dynamic, non-clonable cryptographic signature upon every scan.
2. Immutable Provenance
Data is stored on an EVM-compatible blockchain. The "Provenance Smart Contract" acts as the single source of truth, recording custody transfers and condition reports that cannot be altered retroactively.
02 — Workflow
The Verification Loop
1. Physical Scan
A collector, insurer, or customs officer scans the artifact using a standard smartphone. The NFC chip computes a unique signature.
2. Challenge-Response
The Meridian API validates the signature against the public key stored on-chain. If valid, the digital twin is unlocked.
3. Provenance Reveal
The user is presented with the full history, condition report, and institutional signatories (e.g., "Verified by Sotheby's").
03 — Value Proposition
Why Meridian?
Risk Reduction
Eliminates the risk of forgery for insurers and buyers. A "Verified" status significantly lowers insurance premiums.
Asset Liquidity
Artifacts with trusted, transparent provenance sell faster and at higher premiums than those with opaque histories.
Global Compliance
Adheres to emerging regulations on cultural heritage import/export, creating a frictionless customs experience.
